LEAWOOD, Kan. --

Tortoise continues its focus on delivering innovative client solutions along with exceptional client service with the addition of a new team member dedicated to its exchange-traded products platform.

Scott Ellspermann joined Tortoise in 2020 as director of all exchange traded products, including closed-end funds, and is focused on increasing Tortoise’s ETF platform presence and developing new products. He previously worked at State Street Global Advisors as the head of private wealth management. Mr. Ellspermann served as a member of the U.S. SPDR sales senior management team. He was responsible for defining, leading and executing channel strategies for distribution of SPDR ETFs to the national broker/dealer channel, regional broker-dealer channel and private bank channel in the U.S. Before that, he was the central division sales manager responsible for all ETF and mutual fund sales across the firm’s central division. Mr. Ellspermann earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame cum laude and earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation and the Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®) designations. He holds Series 7, 66 and 24 licenses.

“Scott’s deep expertise of exchange-traded products and his long history of providing exceptional consultative service to clients complements our approach to identifying our clients’ investment needs and developing innovative solutions,” said Tortoise Managing Director, Michael McKeigue.
