TD Asset Management launches three new ETFs, bringing more choice and value to investors

Canada NewsWire

New exchange traded-funds build upon the portfolio management strengths of TDAM and provide investors with more innovative options

TORONTO, May 9, 2019 /CNW/ - TD Asset Management Inc. ("TDAM") today announced the launch of three new TD Exchange-Traded Funds ("New TD ETFs"). Following the introduction of actively-managed ETFs in late 2018, the New TD ETFs build upon the portfolio management strengths of TDAM in both active and passive management. TDAM continues to expand its suite of innovative solutions including distinctive features that may help to provide greater value when compared to similar offerings in the marketplace. Each New TD ETF is competitively priced and seeks to provide investors with enhanced total returns, reduced volatility or growth through exposure to the technology sector.

The New TD ETFs will begin trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) today:

TD Active Global Enhanced Dividend ETF (Ticker: TGED)
An actively managed, total-return focused ETF that strives to earn income and generate moderate capital growth by investing primarily in dividend-paying equity securities of issuers located anywhere in the world. The ETF may use options strategies to help reduce risk and earn additional income.

TD Systematic International Equity Low Volatility ETF (Ticker: TILV)
A quantitative ETF strategy that aims to achieve long-term capital growth by investing directly in, or obtaining exposure to, equity securities of developed market issuers outside Canada and the United States, while also seeking to reduce volatility.

TD Global Technology Leaders Index ETF (Ticker: TEC)
A technology focused ETF that seeks to track, to the extent reasonably possible and before the deduction of fees and expenses, the performance of Solactive Global Technology Leaders Index, a custom index designed by TDAM in collaboration with Solactive AG. This Index can provide investors with exposure to today's most successful technology companies as well as emerging technology companies.

"We are excited once again to be introducing new ETFs to the marketplace, providing investors with more choice and value-added solutions," said Bruce Cooper, CEO & CIO, TD Asset Management. "These ETFs build upon our strength at TDAM in passive and active portfolio management, including low volatility strategies," added Cooper. "As Canada's largest asset manageri, we are continuously seeking to provide innovative products to help our clients meet their investment goals."
