Balmoral stock jumps on Fenelon location bet

In his August 8th Discovery Watch interview, John Kaiser concludes that the latest results from Midland Exploration's (INK Edge Outlook: Cloudy; MD) Mythril project are not yet indicating a world-class copper discovery. The hunt continues, however, with more drill results pending which will be followed up with the design of another drilling program later in the summer.

First Nation election results light a spark under Niobay Metals stock

In his July 4th Discovery Watch broadcast, John Kaiser provides an update on the Frist Nation situation confronting Niobay Metals (NBY) which he has discussed in previous episodes. Kaiser first puts the supply picture of niobium, a mineral with anticorrosive properties used in steel applications, into perspective. He notes that most of the world's supply comes from just three mines including Araxá in Brazil and the privately held Niobec operation in Quebec. Kaiser also explains that Niobay Metals has been frustrated in moving ahead with its exploration plans at its James Bay niobium project located in Ontario due to opposition led by former Moose Cree First Nations chief Patricia Faries. However, on July 2nd a new election took place which saw Marven Cheechoo win the Chief position, handily beating incumbent Faries. This is a positive development according to Kaiser:

A potential rare earths sleeper in Quebec and a drilling miss in BC

In his opening remarks of the May 31st edition of Discovery Watch, John Kaiser provides some background on the origins of the show and its objectives. Mr. Kaiser explains the show is not investment advice, but is designed to keep a spotlight on the junior resource industry in wake of the bear market that ensued in the group following the 2011 gold peak. In the second segment, he turns his attention to rare earths.
