Redline Communications Awarded $1.7M Contract for Major Wireless Network in Mexico

Digital Divide project will bring high-speed connectivity to over 1500 remote locations

TORONTO, March 17, 2016 /CNW/ - Redline Communications (www.rdlcom.com) Group Inc. (TSX: RDL), a leading provider of wide-area wireless networks for the most challenging applications and locations, today announced that it has been selected to supply a network design and the networking equipment for a wireless network that will provide connectivity to approximately 1500 rural businesses, schools and government buildings in Mexico.

The network is part of Mexico's Digital Divide initiative, a major multi-year program funded by the Mexican government. The program is intended to ensure that all communities in Mexico, no matter how remote, will have access to the Internet to support education, business and healthcare at higher levels than would be possible without this access.

Redline's network solution will bring wireless connectivity to citizens in a geographic area that spans more than 64,000 square km's of often remote terrain, giving them high-speed access to government services, remote health care and educational services in addition to an internet service that rivals any available in major urban centers.

"We are very pleased to have won this project in a competitive bid environment", said Jeff Gould, senior vice president sales and marketing at Redline. "We demonstrated that Redline's technology required only two thirds the number of base stations proposed by the leading competitor.  Since base stations are the largest cost component for a project of this type, the customer recognized Redline's solution not only as the best technical product but also as having the lowest total cost of ownership."

Redline provides high quality wireless networks that operate over wide areas and in the most challenging locations.  Powerful enough to support high-speed data, voice and video, Redline's rugged design ensures secure continuous operation for decades, minimizing ongoing support costs.   Redline has been providing wireless network solutions since 1999 and has a significant footprint across Mexico for both digital divide and public safety applications.

This network order is expected to be fully delivered by the end of Q2 2016.
