Neah Power Systems Submits Proposal for Department of Energy Funding

Funding submissions for Battery and Hydrogen Fuel Cell

PR Newswire

BOTHELL, Washington, June 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

Neah Power Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: NPWZ, NEAH POWER) an emerging leader in fuel cell-based power solutions and rechargeable lithium battery storage solutions for defense, commercial, and consumer applications, proudly announced that the Company had submitted two separate proposals for Department of Energy (DOE) funding. One submission was related to the rechargeable lithium battery, and the second submission was related to a hydrogen fuel cell. Both the technologies use the Company's proprietary silicon architecture. In both cases, a reputed National Laboratory was identified as the preferred partner. A response to these submissions is expected by end of June 2016.

In the battery submission, the focus is on characterizing the battery and performing a deconstruction analysis to determine methods to increase the energy density and / or increase the lifetime of the battery. In the fuel cell submission, the emphasis is on benchmarking and characterizing the fuel cell, and evaluating means to reduce the cost of operation of the fuel cell.
