COLUMBUS, Ohio --

Loop, the leading returns and reverse logistics platform, announced its partnership with FIGS, Inc. (NYSE:FIGS), the global leading healthcare apparel brand dedicated to improving the lives of healthcare professionals, to power FIGS’ “Scrubs that Don’t Suck” recycling campaign.

The recycling program, aligned with Earth Month this April, encourages healthcare professionals to recycle old, boxy, uncomfortable scrubs from other companies and instead upgrade to FIGS. FIGS is leveraging Loop’s reverse logistics expertise and scalable solutions to seamlessly manage the complexities of returns and recycling, enhancing its customer experience and operational efficiency. Loop’s reverse logistics platform is also enabling easy in-person drop-offs to minimize the environmental impact of the returns process.

“We’re thrilled that FIGS has turned to Loop’s platform and expertise in reverse logistics to help them manage their carbon footprint, reduce waste, and improve engagement and loyalty among their sustainability-minded customers,” said Hannah Bravo, Chief Operating Officer at Loop. “Returns are a critical part of any apparel brand’s sustainability efforts. It’s exciting to see how Loop’s returns engine, powered by data from tens of millions of returns, can bring this recycling program to life and support FIGS’ goals.”

The program has been a rapid success. In the first 40 minutes following its launch, the FIGS website saw over 2,200 customer submissions to the recycling program. In the first week, it generated almost 30,000 submissions.

The campaign embodies FIGS’ dedication to sustainability while offering a tangible way for customers to participate in meaningful environmental efforts. Returned scrubs will be recycled in partnership with RoadRunner Recycling, converting them into material for sports equipment filler, carpeting and hardwood underlayment, automotive insulation, and more.

Loop and FIGS Partnership

Since 2018, FIGS has trusted Loop as its post-purchase partner. Loop’s innovative return management solutions have supported FIGS through several company milestones—including during the popular brand’s hyper-growth, and as it conducted its IPO in May 2021. It was natural for FIGS to turn to Loop to launch the recycling campaign, maximizing its sustainability impact and enabling healthcare professionals to upgrade into the industry’s best scrubs.

“We’re excited to partner with Loop on our Scrubs that Don’t Suck campaign so that healthcare professionals can recycle their old, boxy, uncomfortable scrubs and upgrade to FIGS—scrubs that don’t suck,” said Jami Pinto, Chief Product and Sustainability Officer at FIGS. “At FIGS, we care deeply about our impact on the environment—we are working towards our goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% and make 75% of all scrub fabrics using recycled and traceable fibers by 2030. The scalability of the Loop platform coupled with our successful, multi-year partnership made partnering with Loop on this campaign a no-brainer. Loop has made it easy for us to launch this recycling program as a way to get our community involved and engaged with our commitment to sustainability this Earth Month.”

Loop offers the ability to manage returns and reverse logistics globally at scale through seamless enterprise integrations. FIGS’ unique recycling program demonstrates how Loop’s returns engine enables customized solutions for brands’ reverse logistics needs.
