The majority of young parents, one of the main RESP client groups, are in favour of electronic signatures. And since electronic signatures can be used whether clients are face-to-face or far away, there's no need for advisors to travel to obtain signatures, and that saves considerable time for both advisors and clients.

It should be noted that iA Financial Group developed an innovative electronic RESP enrolment tool for financial advisors in 2016. This tool has greatly facilitated preparation of the documents required for opening an RESP, helping advisors respond to clients' needs even more quickly. Complete digitization of the process required the addition of electronic signature capability, which is now available.
