SAN ANTONIO --

Harland Clarke Holdings (HCH) is proud to announce that their commitment to quality, organizational health and work/life balance has earned them the highest distinction awarded by the San Antonio Business Group on Health (SABGH) for healthy workplaces. The annual Healthy Workplace Recognition Award is presented in collaboration with the San Antonio Mayor’s Fitness Council (MFC) to honor San Antonio-based employers who maintain a culture of wellness within their organizations and offer programs to support their employees’ health needs.

Presented to HCH for the third year in a row, the award commends companies who promote employee wellness by meeting criteria in six categories:

  • Culture
  • Health promotion and education
  • Physical activity
  • Nutrition
  • Smoking and tobacco cessation
  • Value-based benefits and program design

“Our commitment to the well-being of our team members is an essential part of our company values,” says Paula Jacklin, senior vice president of compensation, benefits and human resource information systems, Harland Clarke Holdings. “I am very proud of the incredible engagement in all of our activities, including our fitness and nutrition challenges and online health coaching. HCH is extremely excited to be recognized for our devotion to employee wellness for the third year in a row.”

Recognition at the platinum level requires a minimum of 72 activities implemented across the categories and accounts for the mission, methods, results and budget allotted for each program. Along with the platinum-level award, HCH also received Active Living Plan Recognition, which requires regular participation as an SABGH member and attendance at quarterly forums. SABGH members discuss best practices and serve as business community leaders united in promoting employee health.
