Inaugural conference in Kelowna focuses on investing in a better tomorrow

Toronto, Ontario--(Newsfile Corp. - June 7, 2023) - The Canadian Securities Exchange ("CSE" or "the Exchange") is pleased to invite the Canadian investment community to participate in its first ever Summit on Responsible Investment, taking place in Kelowna, British Columbia on June 27, 2023. The event, which is presented by the CSE and Sparx Publishing Group, will provide a comprehensive look at investing in a better tomorrow.

The summit is taking place at a time when socially responsible investing (SRI) and environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues have become increasingly critical topics for market participants to navigate. Attendees will gain valuable insights into these issues from a diverse group of entrepreneurs, investors and other changemakers.

Agenda

The morning session will be devoted to expert speakers. Beginning with a keynote address from Dr. Victoria Hurth of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership, speakers will discuss the importance of responsible governance and the purpose-driven economy, how companies can position themselves in an environment of heightened ESG standards, how to comprehend and navigate reporting, disclosure and rating systems, how these tools are applied in responsible investing, and much more. The speakers represent organizations including Socialsuite, Dentons, MNP, Sophic Capital, Varshney Group and JDS Resources Inc. The full line-up of speakers is available here.

The afternoon session will feature a company showcase. Senior executives from firms in sectors such as health and wellness, cleantech and mining will talk about their efforts to promote sustainability, social justice and corporate ethics. The line-up of innovative companies includes several CSE-listed issuers: Beyond Oil Ltd. (BOIL), Boosh Plant-Based Brands Inc. (VEGI), Enertopia Corp. (ENRT), FendX Technologies Inc. (FNDX), First Phosphate Corp. (PHOS), First Tellurium Corp. (FTEL), Pangea Natural Foods Inc. (PNGA), and Sharc International Systems Inc. (SHRC).

"The Canadian Securities Exchange is focused on providing our issuers and the investment community with insights and up-to-date information on topics of relevance in the financial markets. Responsible investment is an important theme influencing markets at present, making this an ideal time to hold this conference," said Richard Carleton, CEO of the CSE. "The Summit on Responsible Investment will provide participants with detailed information on the latest SRI and ESG trends and introduce them to investment opportunities through companies focused on making a positive impact in the world."

Additional Details

For those who cannot attend the Summit on Responsible Investment in person or want to explore the topics in greater detail, the CSE will be publishing a special SRI-focused content series on its blog to accompany the event. Presentations from the conference will also be uploaded to CSE TV, the Exchange's YouTube channel, after the event.

The Summit on Responsible Investment will take place at the Innovation Centre in downtown Kelowna. Admission is by donation only, and participants are encouraged to buy tickets soon to secure a spot.
