“We are delighted to be named to Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable Companies for the sixth consecutive year for our leadership on sustainability efforts that help us, our employees, consumers, customers and community partners create a better future,” said Stephan B. Tanda, Aptar President and CEO. “We believe in running our company in a sustainable manner and innovating towards more sustainable product solutions, which is also a growth driver and competitive advantage for us.”

Aptar has made considerable progress advancing key areas of its global sustainability strategy. Recent Aptar highlights include:

  • Receiving the Platinum level rating from EcoVadis, which places the company among the top 1% of the nearly 90,000 companies rated by EcoVadis across all industries
  • Sourcing approximately 97% of global electricity consumption from renewable sources and certifying more than 60% of sites as Landfill Free through Aptar’s internal program
  • Significantly surpassing the company’s original goals for emissions reduction to the WB2°C scenario and as a result, updating these goals to be more ambitious with Scope 1 and 2 absolute emissions reduction targets aligned to the 1.5°C scenario and have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
  • Being named to the CDP Supplier Engagement Leaderboard, placing the company among the top 8% assessed for supplier engagement on climate change, based on 2022 CDP disclosure and cited for contributions to emissions reductions throughout the value chain
  • Focusing on the eco-design of products, which is aligned to that of Aptar’s partners at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and many other organizations who are working towards a more circular economy
