EDMONTON, Oct. 2, 2017 /CNW/ - Altiplano Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V: APN) (OTCQB:ALTPF) (FWB: 9AJ1) ("APN" or the "Company") has commenced surface diamond drilling at the Maria Luisa High-Sulphidation Gold-Copper Project, Incahuasi, Chile.

During late September the Comet Joint Venture (CJV), following up on the Phase II fieldwork program, commenced a 500m diamond drill program to test the depth extent of main Maria Luisa vein system beneath the current 841 and 858 underground mining levels.

The diamond drill holes are designed to intersect stage I and II mineralization (Stage I (Au-rich) grading up to 25g Au/t across 1.6m with 0.9% Cu, and Stage II (Cu-rich) up to 3 % Cu with 3.7 gAu/t., and provide samples of wall rock adjacent to the current mine workings. In addition, samples for specific gravity and rock quality data collected will aid in the design of the decline.
