Organization releases virtual experiences guide with ways to explore Albuquerque from the comfort of home

PR Newswire

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., March 31, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In response to the State of New Mexico's current stay-at-home instructions, Visit Albuquerque—the city's destination marketing organization—has created a guide with ways for visitors and locals to virtually explore the city from the comfort of home.

The new Homeside Exploration & Activities guide offers several ways to explore Albuquerque virtually, from interactive virtual tours and the Albuquerque Locals' Guide to 360-degree business listings and virtual business offerings. Virtual tours highlight a variety of experiences to explore, from our famous Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta and one-of-a-kind cuisine to our authentic arts and lively music scene. Each video immerses the user within the sights and sounds of the city, providing a deeper experience than plain text or still imagery. The page also includes a section for virtually planning future trips. The interactive map allows users to virtually experience some of the city's most well-known attractions through 360-degree video.

"We initially created these 360-degree video experiences to add an immersive trip-planning tool for visitors looking to travel to Albuquerque or hold a meeting or event here," said Tania Armenta, President & CEO of Visit Albuquerque. "We are grateful to be able to repurpose these features to allow viewers to explore Albuquerque's beautiful scenery and unique attractions and to inspire future travel to our city."

Intended for locals as well as future visitors, the guide includes links to other virtual business offerings, such as Albuquerque Museum's eMuseum. To encourage mental health and well-being, the page also highlights online fitness programs currently being offered by local businesses, such as Mi Vida Yoga's free online yoga classes. Also included in the guide is a section dedicated to Film Tourism, which offers ways to experience Albuquerque by watching one of the many films or television shows that have been filmed in the area.

"We are proud to share these resources, and we hope that everyone will use them to discover something new about Albuquerque or to plan a future trip," Armenta said. "The city's entire tourism and hospitality industry is looking forward to welcoming visitors back to Albuquerque to enjoy these experiences for themselves."
