Management Continues to Execute on Business Strategy in Challenging Environment

HOUSTON, TX / ACCESSWIRE / April 6, 2020 / Viking Energy Group, Inc. (OTCQB:VKIN) ("Viking" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that last week it reduced its overall debt by ~ $7,100,000.

On March 31st, 2020, Viking's subsidiary, Ichor Energy, LLC ("Ichor"), made a $794,899 principal payment under the Term Loan Agreement pursuant to which Ichor is a party, using funds generated through the sale of oil and gas produced by assets owned by Ichor's subsidiaries. Ichor's subsidiaries own a working interest in approx. 58 conventional, producing oil and gas wells in Texas and Louisiana and an interest in more than 30 Salt Water Disposal Wells. The wells produce hydrocarbons from known reservoirs/sands in the on-shore Gulf Coast region, including the Hackberry, Yegua, Wilcox, Amphistegina and Robira. The average well total measured depth is approx. 10,639 ft.

Viking also reduced by ~ $6,300,000 the amount owing under the promissory note executed by the Company following the acquisition of oil and gas assets by the Company's majority-owned subsidiary, Elysium Energy, LLC ("Elysium") in February of this year. The promissory note replaced the note signed and delivered by Viking on December 28, 2018 in connection with Ichor's acquisition. Viking accomplished the ~ $6.3 million debt reduction by allocating adjustments associated with the Elysium acquisition to the benefit of the note holder. Features of the assets acquired by Elysium include: (i) working interests and over-riding royalty interests in several conventional, active oil and/or gas wells in Texas and Louisiana ; (iii) several PDNP enhancement opportunities (e.g. recompletions and work-overs); and (iv) infill drilling prospects.

The Ichor wells and Elysium wells are operated by Viking's subsidiary, Petrodome Operating, LLC.

Details regarding the replacement promissory note, the Term Loan Agreement, the Ichor acquisition and the Elysium acquisition were included in Viking's Annual Report on Form 10-K filed on March 30, 2020, for the year ended December 31, 2019, available under "Investors -- SEC Filings" at www.vikingenergygroup.com.
