Vecima to Demonstrate DOCSIS Distributed Access Platform at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2016

VICTORIA, BC--(Marketwired - September 19, 2016) - Vecima Networks Inc. (TSX: VCM), an experienced designer and manufacturer of innovative technology in the broadband equipment market, will demonstrate Entra, its new DOCSIS 3.1 Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) platform at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo to be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from September 26-29, 2016. The live demonstration of the Entra platform will highlight delivery of multi-gigabit broadband speeds using DOCSIS 3.1 for the first time.

Vecima's Entra is a next generation access solution that consists of Ethernet-centric remote access nodes and virtual controller software that supports all distributed architectures. This approach to the network enables operators to offer multi-gigabit data rates over cable to subscribers without the excessive costs of running fiber to the home. Entra overcomes the challenges of traditional architectures by delivering highly attractive power and cost per bit while maximizing network capacity and minimizing space in already constrained hub sites.

"Vecima is looking forward to demonstrating the advanced capabilities of Entra at this year's Cable-Tec Expo and providing insight into how Entra will benefit network operators as capacity continues to grow exponentially," said Sumit Kumar, Vecima Networks' President and CEO. He adds, "We are excited to show how the Entra distributed access platform is an optimal path for operators to migrate to gigabit speeds using DOCSIS 3.1."

Please visit Vecima Networks at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2016 booth #626 to see Entra in action.
