UCT Takes Significant Steps Towards Resumption of Production at Cinos Plant, Republic of Korea

PR Newswire

HAYWARD, Calif., Oct. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Ultra Clean Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: UCTT) ("UCT"), a leading developer and supplier of critical subsystems, ultra-high purity cleaning and analytical services for the semiconductor and display capital equipment industries, today announced significant progress towards the resumption of production in Balan, Republic of Korea. As reported on September 19, 2018, a facility, operated by joint venture Cinos Co., Ltd., was extensively damaged by a fire. There were no injuries to any employees, first responders, safety personnel or neighbors to the facility, and national and local environmental agencies have reported no environmental impacts.

A majority of the production volume has been transferred to adjacent Cinos facilities. The remaining equipment necessary to resume full production is being sourced from multiple Quantum Global Technologies facilities and vendors and is currently being shipped to Balan. The Company has been communicating with its customers and an expedited qualification process is underway. All employees have been redeployed to the adjacent Cinos facilities and it is expected that production supply will normalize in the coming weeks within the framework of delivery lead times.

Safety and quality remain top priorities during the disruption. The Company continues to work closely with the fire department and other local regulatory agencies to identify the exact cause of the fire. No additional details are available at this time.
