The Scotiabank Women Initiative launches new podcast series focused on Resilience

Canada NewsWire

TORONTO, June 12, 2020 /CNW/ - The Scotiabank Women Initiative™ (SWI) and Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FWE) have launched The Go-To: Special Edition podcast series, for women entrepreneurs. The Go-To podcasts focus on resilience. This special edition offers Canadian women entrepreneurs tips and insight into how they can build the capacity to grow, adapt and pivot to transform their business. The podcasts include topic experts and Canadian women entrepreneurs who provide applicable business strategies, personal leadership considerations, and stories of resilience in action.

Available in English and French, the five podcast episodes are accessible now on Apple Podcast, Google Play, Spotify, at www.fwe.ca/thegoto and on The Scotiabank Women Initiative website

"The Scotiabank Women Initiative is well positioned to support women entrepreneurs through our three key pillars: Access to Capital, Mentorship and Education," says Gillian Riley, President and CEO, Tangerine Bank and Executive Sponsor of The Scotiabank Women Initiative.  "As Canadian business owners grapple with the current economic and health crisis, resilience, now more than ever, is a critical mindset for entrepreneurs. By collaborating with Forum for Women Entrepreneurs to develop a special edition of The Go-To podcasts, The Scotiabank Women Initiative aims to provide entrepreneurs with useful and meaningful content to help them grow, build, sustain and shape their business with long-term success in mind."

Topics featured in the five-part special edition of The Go-To podcast series are:

  • The Resilient Mindset
  • Minding Your Money
  • Owning Your Personal Leadership
  • The Heart of the Sell
  • Finding and Delivering Your Value

"We are so grateful to collaborate with The Scotiabank Women Initiative once again to bring timely and relevant support to women entrepreneurs eager to emerge from this crisis stronger than ever," says Paulina Cameron, CEO of Forum for Women Entrepreneurs. "Together with a comprehensive workbook The Go-To: Special Edition is about education, reflection, leadership and community. We invite all women entrepreneurs to benefit from the podcasts and workbook  for free."

In 2019, FWE teamed up with The Scotiabank Women Initiative to produce a 13-episode, bilingual podcast season – entitled The Go-To: For Entrepreneurs in the Know, – geared at addressing foundational topics for entrepreneurs, including marketing, mindset, expansion and more. The special edition of The Go-To podcast series is the latest addition to a variety of educational offerings from The Scotiabank Women Initiative.

In addition, The Scotiabank Women Initiative continues to find new ways to support women-led businesses during the global COVID-19 pandemic through:

  • The launch of a digital client newsletter for program participants, providing access to practical and accessible resources found on our Knowledge Centre like podcasts, research, learning aids and educational videos.
  • Sponsoring Femmessor's Brigade Expertes Femmessor, an initiative launched in April matching women entrepreneurs impacted by COVID-19 with experts, to provide one-on-one advice over the phone or virtually.
  • Scotiabank Business Banking relief measures.

The Scotiabank Women Initiative is continuously identifying new approaches and adapting the program to respond to the needs of women led businesses, now and in the future.
