SANTA CLARA, CA / ACCESSWIRE / April 21, 2021 / SPI Energy Co., Ltd. ("SPI Energy" or the "Company") (NASDAQ:SPI), a global renewable energy company and provider of solar storage and electric vehicle (EV) solutions for business, residential, government, logistics and utility customers and investors, today announced Solar4America, a subsidiary of the Company's SolarJuice Co., Ltd. ("SolarJuice") subsidiary and one of the largest privately held solar and roofing installers in the US, launched its new S4A-360 module, a PERC cell technology solar module for the US residential market.

The high-efficiency S4A-360 module, a 360W half-cut mono-PERC cell solar module, uses a new, more efficient circuit design that significantly lowers the risk of hot spots. With no water-permeability and high wear-resistance, the S4A-360 can be widely used in high-humid, windy, and dusty areas, covering the spectrum of environmental conditions across key target markets. For further information please visit our website www.solar4america.com or email [email protected].

"PERC cell technology provides manufacturing efficiencies compared to standard solar cells which are reaching their physical limits," commented Xiaofeng Peng, Chairman and CEO of SPI Energy. "The high-efficiency of the S4A-360 modules makes them a highly attractive solution for consumers in a variety of markets. To meet the expected high demand, we are inventorying the Solar4America solar modules at our distribution facilities in both California and Florida."

In 2018, solar generated about 1.5% of US electricity. Of all renewable energy generation, solar PV is expected to grow the fastest from now to 2050, with total installed U.S. PV capacity expected to more than double over the next five years alone, according to Forbes.
