London, United Kingdom--(Newsfile Corp. - September 19, 2023) - The Small Beer Brewery, founded in 2017, is expanding internationally and has its sights set on the US market. Co-Founders James Grundy and Felix James are preparing for their next stage of growth and have just landed their first shipment on US shores. “London is where we built our bespoke Brewery, and the UK is undoubtedly our heartland, but it’s incredibly exciting to be taking Small Beer to the US,” says Grundy. “The American craft styles tend to sit at a far higher ABV, and we hope that our 2% beers will be enjoyed by those discerning drinkers who are still seeking out uncompromising taste, but who also want to strike the right balance."

A brewing style that first found fame through the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries with an upper limit of 2.8%, Small Beer was historically consumed for nutrition and hydration and written about by all from Shakespeare to Dickens. With 65% of UK adults proactively looking to lead a healthier lifestyle, Small Beer says that “As a nation, we still love consuming great beer, but are more conscious than ever of alcohol content, calories and carbs.”

"The lower alcohol content means our beers are naturally lower in calories, and hyper low sugar," says James Grundy, but as a producer, they pride themselves on the big flavours that their beers deliver. Not only is Small Beer better for individuals, but it is also better for the planet. Becoming London's first B Corp-certified Brewery at the start of 2019, Small Beer was recognised for its dramatic water saving during the production process. "Where the industry average is typically 8-10 pints of water to brew a pint of beer, we have managed to reduce this to just 1.5 pints. We do this through our entirely dry floor brewery as well as recapturing, recycling & recirculating the water that we do use," says Felix James. They are also a proud supporter of South East London's Horniman, providing 1% of all revenue to their world-leading Project Coral research initiative.

Currently available nationwide within Majestic Wine, Ocado and Waitrose or directly from their website, Small Beer is becoming a household brand for those who do not want to forgo great taste or social occasions and love enjoying quality beer, but find themselves juggling work, family, health and wellbeing.

The Small Beer team's motto "Think Big Drink Small" resonates with their work and more details regarding becoming a shareholder in Small Beer can be found by following this link.
