RYU Apparel receives double its pre-sale goal in Kickstarter Campaign

PR Newswire

RYU sells over 400 new Ethos hoodies raising $52,160USD during one-month Kickstarter campaign

VANCOUVER, Feb. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ - RYU Apparel Inc. (TSX VENTURE: RYU & Frankfurt Stock Exchange: RYA), creator of "tailored innovation for the urban athlete", successfully completed its first Kickstarter campaign this week, doubling anticipated sales and raising 208% of its initial pre-sale goal securing over $52,000USD for their new men's Ethos pullover and women's Ethos full zip hoodie.

RYU Apparel has reinvented the hoodie to solve traditional problems faced by athletes. Starting with a new hybrid fabric, developed by RYU, that has the comfort of cotton with the flexibility of spandex, the new Ethos hoodies are designed with minimal bulk and sleek designs in mind.

Having grown a loyal following in its backyard of Vancouver, BC, RYU launched the new Ethos hoodie on Kickstarter to raise awareness around its newest products and innovative fabrics and designs to a broader audience across Canada and the US.

"We were simply blown away by the incredible response we got from this Kickstarter campaign, we really can't thank our supporters enough. This campaign acted as a Beta test for our newest hero items from the Ethos line and based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback and sales volume we saw, we're anticipating a strong response once these pieces become available to the public," said Marcello Leone, CEO, President and Chairman of the Board for RYU.

RYU is currently in the process of fulfilling orders which will be delivered to backers in March 2017 at which point the Ethos hoodies will be available in-store and online for purchase.
