Rogers Customers Can Stream Up To 3 Times More Video Using their Data

New feature gives Share Everything customers even more control of their family data plan, at no extra cost

TORONTO, Sept. 26, 2017 /CNW/ - Rogers Communications today announced a new feature, part of its worry-free data management solution, that gives families the ability to get more out of their data plan by streaming up to three times more video on the most popular mobile applications and websites including YouTube, Twitch, and Rogers NHL Live.

With the new feature, the data manager (mom or dad, for example) can change video streaming settings from high definition to standard definition, which is similar to DVD quality, with one swipe in their MyRogers app, giving any line on their plan the ability to watch even more video. For example, a customer can watch up to 18 minutes of standard definition video on YouTube compared to 6 minutes in high definition, all while using the same amount of data.

"We want our customers to get the most out their plan and providing solutions that allow them to manage their family's data is a big priority," said Raj Doshi, Executive Vice President, Wireless, Rogers Communications. "This new feature means families can stream, share on social media, and connect with what matters, worry-free."

Stream SaverTM is the latest enhancement of Rogers worry-free data management solution which gives families full control of managing their data in real-time through MyRogers. The industry-leading solution, exclusive to Share Everything customers, lets the data manager set customized data alerts for each member of the family, top up data for the month and pause data usage on any line in the plan.

Since introducing the tool last year to empower customers by giving them more control of their data usage, there has been a significant drop in customer calls related to data usage, while customers who use the tool are more satisfied with their service.

Stream Saver is available on desktop starting today and will launch in the MyRogers app on Android and iOS in the coming days. For more information visit www.rogers.com/data.
