ProTek Devices Intros Two Series of Circuit Protection Components for Computing Interfaces

The PSRDAxx-4A and PSRDAxx-6A series of steering diode / TVS arrays are suited for ESD and lightning protection in ethernet, STB, video card and various other computing ports.

PR Newswire

TEMPE, Ariz, May 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ProTek Devices has introduced two new series of steering diode / TVS arrays for surge, electrostatic discharge and other circuit protection in computing applications such as Ethernet ports, set-top boxes, and other computing ports and interfaces.

The PSRDAxx-4A and PSRDAxx-6A series are low capacitance multi-line steering diode / transient voltage suppressor arrays. The PSRDAxx-4A is also suited to protect video card applications while the PSRDAxx-6A is also suited for industrial controls. They provide board-level circuit protection for standard TTL and CMOS bus line applications against the damaging effects of ESD, tertiary lightning and switching transients.

Both series have a peak pulse power rating of 500 Watts for an 8/20 micro second waveshape. They also are compatible with various IEC standards that include 61000-4-2 (ESD): air - 15kV, contact - 8kV; with 61000-4-4 (EFT): 40A - 5/50ns; with 61000-4-5 (surge): 24A, 8/20 micro seconds - level 2 (line / ground) and level 3 (line-line). The PSRDAxx-4A features unidirectional configuration and the PSRDAxx-6A features bidirectional configuration. Both series are available in multiple voltages. The PSRDAxx-4A series protects up to four I/O ports and the PSRDAxx-6A series protects up to six lines. Both series also offer low capacitance of 5pF and are RoHS and REACH compliant.

Mechanical, Packaging and Availability Information
These steering diode / TVS array series are now available in a molded JEDEC SO-8 package with an approximate weight of just 70 milligrams. Other key mechanical characteristics include lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature (pure-tin - Sn, 100) of 260-270 degrees Celsius. The new steering diode / TVS array series also have a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. The steering diode / TVS array components are provided on 12mm tape and reel per EIA standard 481 in quantities starting at 1,000.
