Canada NewsWire

(TSXV: PGV)

TORONTO, Nov. 15, 2018 /CNW/ - Prodigy Ventures Inc. (TSXV: PGV) ("Prodigy" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has received the Deloitte Technology Fast 50™ program award for its rapid revenue growth, entrepreneurial spirit and bold innovation. The program and annual award distinguishes 50 Canadian technology companies with the highest revenue-growth percentage over the past four years. Prodigy ranks 41st with a 520 percent revenue growth from 2014 to 2017.

Prodigy also ranked 186th on the Deloitte 2018 Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and energy tech companies in North America.

"We are honoured to receive the Fast50 and Fast500 program awards for the third year in a row," said Tom Beckerman, Prodigy's CEO. "This achievement is earned and shared by the entire Prodigy team in recognition of their outstanding expertise, dedication and commitment to excellence in emerging technology."

"Business is changing rapidly, and what used to work a few years ago isn't a recipe for what will work in the future," said Erica Pretorius, Partner and National Leader for the Technology Fast 50™ program at Deloitte Canada. "Fast 50 winners are a beacon of innovation and I'm looking forward to how they will change the business and technology landscape in the future."

To qualify for the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranking, companies must have been in business for at least four years, have revenues of at least $5 million, be headquartered in Canada, own proprietary technology, conduct research and development activities in Canada and invest a minimum of five percent of gross revenues in R&D.

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 program winners consist of public and private companies in the technology sector, which have transformed the industry. Now in its 21st year, the program runs alongside the broader Deloitte North American Technology Fast 500™, with winners automatically eligible for this elite ranking.

"Congratulations to the Deloitte 2018 Technology Fast 500 winners on this impressive achievement," said Sandra Shirai, vice chairman, Deloitte LLP, and U.S. technology, media and telecommunications leader. "These companies are innovators who have converted their disruptive ideas into products, services and experiences that can captivate new customers and drive remarkable growth."

"Software, which accounts for nearly two of every three companies on the list, continues to produce some of the most exciting technologies of the 21st century, including innovations in artificial intelligence, predictive analytics and robotics," said Mohana Dissanayake, partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP, and Industry Leader for technology, media and telecommunications, within Deloitte's audit and assurance practice. "This year's ranking demonstrates what is likely a national phenomenon, where many companies from all parts of America are transforming the way we do business by combining breakthrough research and development, entrepreneurship and rapid growth."
