NEW ORLEANS --

Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG), a leading provider of insurance and financial services throughout the Americas, announced today that Patrick Fraizer will retire as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary on March 31. Jose Corrada, PALIG’s Deputy General Counsel, is being promoted to Senior Vice President and will assume the role of General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

“Pat has been planning for this moment and during his long tenure has laid a strong foundation for our legal and compliance functions to continue excelling in the future,” said José S. Suquet, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of Pan-American Life Insurance Group. “More importantly, his expertise and counsel were instrumental in guiding PALIG through several major mergers and acquisitions that have transformed the company. I will miss Pat’s partnership and legal acumen, but he has earned the opportunity to enjoy the next phase of his life in the company of his family and friends.”

Mr. Corrada joined PALIG in 2008 as Associate General Counsel and in 2018 was promoted to the role of Deputy General Counsel. He has nearly 20 years of legal, regulatory and corporate governance experience. His deep international experience and wide range of insurance law expertise are well aligned with PALIG’s growth strategy. Prior to joining PALIG, Mr. Corrada served as Associate Counsel for Peoples Health in Metairie, Louisiana, where he advised on corporate, healthcare, law, labor, corporate governance and insurance regulatory matters. Previously, Mr. Corrada held associate positions at Middleberg Riddle & Gianna in Baton Rouge, LA, where his areas of practice included commercial litigation and corporate, healthcare and insurance regulatory matters, as well as associate positions with H. Hampton Friedman & Associates, L.L.C. in Metairie, LA; Landry & Lavelle, L.L.P. in New Orleans, LA; and Guste, Barnett & Shushan, L.L.P. in New Orleans, LA.

“Jose has greatly contributed to our organization over the past decade and is ready to assume the leadership of our legal function. He and his team will continue to provide invaluable support as PALIG enters its next phase of growth with great momentum,” added Suquet.
