WHAT:

Please join us as we host national non-profit Wreaths Across America to place veterans' wreaths on the more than 253,000 headstones at Arlington National Cemetery on Saturday, Dec. 18 – National Wreaths Across America Day. This is the 30th year that live, balsam wreaths will be placed on these hallowed grounds during the holiday season in remembrance and honor of our nation's fallen service members and their families. Throughout the day, visitors can receive updates by following Arlington National Cemetery on social media @ArlingtonNatl.




MEDIA REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED: Please register at: https://www.universe.com/2021-ANC-PRESS-PASS


On the media registration page, provide the following information to be considered for media credentials:
1) Full name
2) Media outlet
3) Cell phone number
4) Email address
5) How you will arrive (i.e. parking, ride share)
6) Type of equipment you will bring
7) Will you be livestreaming?
8) Are you requesting any standups or interviews?

NOTE: All parking requests must be pre-approved and noted on your media credential request form. If you need to bring your vehicle into the cemetery, you will be required to coordinate with a public affairs officer on site when you are ready to exit. We highly recommend arriving via ride share (Uber, Lyft). The drop off location is the Hayes lot (599-549 Army Navy Drive). From there, you can walk to the cemetery's Service Complex Gate.

MEDIA ARRIVAL STARTS AT 5:40AM. YOU MUST ARRIVE BEFORE 6:00AM.
Note: If you miss the media arrival, you will not have access to the event as there is a mandatory security sweep. There will be NO exceptions.

INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES: By request only, interviews will be made available between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. with the below spokespersons:

  • Founder and Executive Director of Wreaths Across America (respectively),
  • Morrill and Karen Worcester
  • Wayne Hanson, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Wreaths Across America, Vietnam Veteran
  • Jo Ann Maitland, National President of American Gold Star Mothers Inc.
  • Nancy Menagh, President Emeritus, Gold Star Wives of America, Inc.

LIVESTREAMING OPPORTUNITIES: Livestreaming opportunities will be permitted this year by request only at either South Gate or at the top of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial (WIMSA). Also by request only, standups and interviews will be permitted at the top of the WIMSA.  Please note that livestreaming is only allowed in these two locations. Livestreaming is not allowed elsewhere in the cemetery at any time.

MEDIA GROUND RULES & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • There will be no additional interviews or stand-ups permitted during the event.
  • We DO NOT permit the placement of Go Pros anywhere in the cemetery.
  • Due to changes to access this year, we will not be able to accommodate satellite trucks. If you wish to go live, you must bring a portable live pack.
  • This is a walking event. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring refillable water bottles. Temporary restrooms will be located throughout the cemetery. Maps and directions are available on our website at: www.arlingtoncemetery.mil.
  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MASKS ARE REQUIRED INDOORS but are optional outside.
