Mission Ready to Develop Additional Uniforms for Department of Homeland Security in Cooperation With North Carolina State University

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - June 28, 2016) - Further to a July 2015 News Release announcing a cooperative agreement between wholly-owned subsidiary, Protect The Force Inc. ("PTF") and the North Carolina State University ("NCSU"), Mission Ready Services Inc. ("Mission Ready" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: MRS) is pleased to announce the expansion of the program with an additional 176 uniforms requested for further systems-level testing by the NCSU and field testing to be conducted by the United States Department of Homeland Security.

In cooperation with NCSU, PTF has been developing and refining an Advanced Multipurpose Base ensemble for Emergency Responders ("AMBER") for the Department of Homeland Security. The AMBER project aims at developing a next generation uniform that integrates state of the art technologies including flame resistance, blood-borne pathogen protection, water repellency, improved comfort, integrated knee pads, high visibility features among other features.

The award follows a successful initial 14-month subcontract through Prime Contractor, NCSU - Textile Protection and Comfort Center ("TPACC") for the development of 150 prototypes for testing and evaluation.

PTF's Chief Technical Officer, Francisco Martinez states, "The PTF team is exceedingly proud to have been chosen by NCSU and by DHS to continue to advance this project and to provide final deliverables in this multi-year contract. The resulting uniforms are a leap ahead in technology with features and protective technologies that will revolutionize the industry and increase the performance and protection levels of First Responders. It is an honor to play a significant role as the AMBER uniform transitions from a concept to a cutting-edge final product."

In addition to the provision of 176 additional uniforms, PTF will coordinate -- through the approval process developed by Underwriters Laboratory (UL) -- the certification of materials, and ensemble, to meet the NFPA 1975: Standard on Station/Work Uniforms for Emergency Services. NFPA 1975 safeguards emergency services personnel on the job by establishing requirements for flame-resistant station uniform clothing that won't cause or exacerbate burn injury. NFPA 1975 provisions apply to design, performance, testing and certification of non-primary protective work apparel and the individual garments comprising work apparel. In addition, this document specifies criteria for thermally stable textiles that will not rapidly deteriorate, melt, shrink, or adhere to the wearer's skin, and also provides optional requirements and tests to verify flame resistance, odor resistance, water resistance, and insect repellency.
