SAN FRANCISCO & VANCOUVER, British Columbia --

— RSA Conference 2020 Absolute® (TSX:ABT), the leader in endpoint resilience, today announced early insights from the company’s upcoming 2020 State of Endpoint Resilience Report against the backdrop of RSA Conference 2020. The second annual edition leverages Absolute’s comprehensive, single-source-of-truth intelligence to shine a light on the myriad of endpoint complexities and potential vulnerabilities that are exposing today’s enterprise organizations to data breaches, attacks, and more.

Expanding on the first iteration, which found that the number of applications being deployed on the endpoint create an environment ripe for collision and failure, the 2020 State of Endpoint Resilience Report will provide a detailed look into the compliance rates of critical endpoint security controls. It will also examine how the health and behavior of a single endpoint application, or cohort of applications, can affect the resilience of an entire endpoint device.

The report’s initial findings, which leverage anonymized data points from approximately six million endpoint devices with the Absolute platform activated, include:

  • The typical endpoint device has 96 unique applications installed, including 10.2 distinct endpoint security agents.
  • Three in four enterprise endpoint devices are running Windows 10, but of those, 80 percent have a version of Windows 10 that is more than one year old.
  • While 97 percent of endpoint devices have an encryption agent installed, one in five of those devices have agent that is non-compliant.
  • Nearly half of the endpoint devices with a VPN installed have one that is misconfigured, out-of-date, or non-compliant.

*All data points apply to endpoint devices with the Absolute platform installed and activated.

With firmware-embedded capabilities in more than 500 million endpoint devices, Absolute strengthens endpoint resilience for enterprise organizations with the ability to self-heal, or automatically repair and restore, the mission-critical applications they need to ensure are undeletable.

The 2020 State of Endpoint Resilience Report is planned for release in Spring 2020. To download the full report once available, and to learn more about how Absolute enables more than 12,000 customers worldwide with uncompromised endpoint persistence, resilience, and intelligence, visit: www.absolute.com.

Other highlights from Absolute’s presence at RSA Conference 2020 include a panel discussion, Coordinating a Competitive 5G Strategy among Freemarket Democracies, moderated by Absolute’s CEO and President, Christy Wyatt. The session will take place today, February 25, 2020, from 11:00 – 11:50 a.m. in Moscone West Room 3011. More information can be found here.
