TORONTO, May 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IBI Group (TSX:IBG), a Toronto-based, global design and technology firm, will announce the launch of an exciting, new Smart Cities initiative tomorrow, alongside partners, including: EllisDon, The Weather Network and Slate Asset Management, as well as technology provider Microsoft. The initiative will be announced at the Smarter Urban Future event hosted at IBI Group’s head office on May 10^th. Partners will be in attendance and available to speak with media. In addition to the announcement, the event will feature an emerging technology pavilion, with booths including virtual reality and parametric design. Media are invited to peruse the booths, interview booth demonstrators, and learn about the technologies and their impact on cities.

With Toronto being a leader in the development and adoption of smart city technologies, the initiative will be hosted at IBI’s Toronto headquarters but be open to applicants across the globe, with the goal of addressing real-world problems in cities around the world and fostering open networks of communication.
