Media Advisory - CATSA provides tips for easy holiday travel

Canada NewsWire

HALIFAX, Dec. 11, 2018 /CNW/ - The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) and the Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) invite media to attend a holiday travel tips session.

As YHZ is projecting new records in passenger numbers this year, we are expecting a very busy holiday season!

CATSA will also offer a display of recently surrendered items from Halifax security checkpoints.

Finally, we will take the occasion to introduce the new CATSA Plus, a technology providing more time to divest for those passengers who need it, while allowing more experienced travellers to continue through the rest of the screening process.

When:

Thursday, December 13, 2018, 10:00 a.m.

Media registration begins at 9:45 a.m.

Where:

Halifax Stanfield International Airport, at the entrance of the domestic/international  security screening (centre court).

Who:

Christine Langlois, Spokesperson, CATSA

Theresa Rath Spicer, Spokesperson, Halifax Stanfield International Airport

CATSA is a Crown corporation responsible for:

  • Pre-board screening – the screening of passengers, their carry-on baggage and their personal belongings;
  • Hold-baggage screening – the screening of checked baggage;
  • Non-passenger screening – the random screening of non-passengers; and
  • Restricted Area Identity Card – the administration of access control to airport restricted areas through biometric identifiers.
