Media Advisory - Assembly of First Nations Convening National Forum on First Nations Housing and Infrastructure

WINNIPEG, Oct. 28, 2016 /CNW/ - The Assembly of First Nations' (AFN) is convening a national Housing and Infrastructure Forum to be held November 1-3 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  The Forum will provide Chiefs and their representatives an opportunity to share views on critical issues surrounding healthy and safe communities. The Forum will feature discussions on a First Nations-led National Housing Strategy, infrastructure programs, housing reform, sanitation programs and action on safe drinking water.

Speakers will include AFN National Chief Perry Bellegarde; AFN Manitoba Regional Chief and portfolio holder for housing, Kevin Hart; Premier of Manitoba, Brian Pallister; Senator Lillian Dyck; Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, Carolyn Bennett; and Deputy Mayor of Winnipeg, Jenny Gerbasi.

When: Tuesday, November 1st to Thursday, November 3rd 2016

Where: RBC Convention Centre, 375 York Avenue, Winnipeg, MB
