500+ hackers present their innovative solutions at Elevate Hackathon (CNW Group/TD Bank Group)

WHAT: Join the inaugural Elevate Hackathon judging day! Already underway, over 500 hackers are working all weekend long to find innovative solutions to solve for Toronto's toughest urban problems. A total of $18,000 in prize money is at stake.

WHO: TD's Head of Technology and Innovation, Michael Rhodes; 500+ hackers; Innovation thought-leaders. Exclusive judging panel including Chief of Staff Universal Music, Key digital leads from TD and Interac and CGI, The City of Toronto's Transformation Offices.

Hackathon participants: 500+ students and young professionals. There are teams of all ages (from kids young enough to have their parents register for them to cutting-edge young professionals). Over 35% of participants are female hackers.

WHERE: MaRS Discovery District - 101 College St, Toronto, ON M5G 1L7

WHEN: Sunday September 23 | 3-5 p.m.

WHY: These hacker participants are actively solving to make Toronto an even better place. Plus, this talent pool will be the future of Toronto's, and Canada's, innovation ecosystem.
