Louis Vachon Receives the Global Citizens Award from the United Nations Association in Canada

Canada NewsWire

MONTREAL, Nov. 4, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - National Bank is proud to announce that Louis Vachon has been awarded the Global Citizens Award by the United Nations Association in Canada (UNAC). Mr. Vachon was guest of honour at the annual Global Citizens Dinner yesterday, where he was recognized through this award for his dedication and inspirational vision toward a better world for future generations.

Louis Vachon has been President and Chief Executive Officer at National Bank since 2007 and is committed to contributing to Canada's economic and social vitality—a tradition the Bank has been upholding since its foundation in 1859. While he has supported numerous causes throughout his career, Mr. Vachon is particularly concerned with organizations involved in health and education, which he believes are the pillars of a strong, flourishing community. He is also a strong advocate of diversity and entrepreneurship as being integral to a prosperous society. Mr. Vachon's support for the community has been recognized on numerous occasions, most recently with his appointment to the Order of Canada.

UNAC works with citizens and decision-makers to help Canada support the UN's mission and build a future based on equality, dignity and justice for all. You can read the UNAC's press release for the event at: unac.org/globalcitizensdinner.
