COSTA MESA, Calif. --

Weight loss pioneer, Dr. Marshall Stamper, died earlier this week surrounded by his family. He was eighty-nine years old.

Dr. Stamper founded Lindora in 1971 with the company's first clinic in Newport Beach. Since its founding, Lindora’s medically supervised program has helped hundreds of thousands of people lose weight and live healthier lives. Dr. Stamper was a pioneer in the study of obesity medicine and one of the first adopters of the ketosis-based diet.

“Dr. Stamper not only was among the first doctors nearly fifty years ago to recognize and use the ketogenic diet, he then created a process that made it available to everyone. His and Lindora’s success over the years is a significant factor in the ketogenic diet’s wide acceptance today,” said Dan Lubeck, Managing Director of Solis Capital Partners.

In 2015, Solis Capital Partners, together with Innovate Partners, invested in Lindora to help the company grow and reach more patients.
