Our new patent is intended to act as the core patent for a future family of patents intended to establish new art in the area of sublingual, buccal membrane delivery of active ingredients into the blood stream. Chief Science Officer of LDS, Doctor John Sanderson, comments regarding the patent, "The subject matter of this patent, entitled Transmucosal Delivery of Biologically Active Agents, is a composition and method for delivering uniquely nano-encapsulated biological molecules of therapeutic value systemically - directly across mucous membranes - in order to achieve ease of administration, compliance, dose repeatability and improved bioavailability." 

The patent includes specific and unique claims for any and all bioactives derived from Cannabis species. This embodiment teaches a composition that encapsulates cannabis extracts into defined nano-carriers (molecular chaperones) and then embeds these cannabinoid and terpene molecules into a colloid polymer thin film composition for efficient delivery across buccal mucous membranes with improved therapeutic effect, with fewer untoward or side effects, at lower cost.
