NEW YORK --

Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) assigns preliminary ratings to six classes of mortgage pass-through notes from CSMC 2021-NQM6 Trust (CSMC 2021-NQM6), a $442.9 million non-prime RMBS transaction. The underlying collateral, comprising 936 residential mortgages, is characterized by a notable concentration of loans underwritten using alternative income documentation (97.3% of the pool), including written verification of employment (WVOE; 39.5%), debt service coverage ratio (DSCR; 25.6%), profit and loss statement (P&L; 18.8%), no ratio/property underwrite (Investor No Ratio; 7.2%), bank statements (5.6%), asset depletion (0.3%), rental income (0.1%), and award letter (SSI Award Letter; 0.1%).

KBRA’s rating approach incorporated loan-level analysis of the mortgage pool through its KBRA RMBS Credit Model, an examination of the results from third-party loan file due diligence, cash flow modeling analysis of the transaction’s payment structure, reviews of key transaction parties and an assessment of the transaction’s legal structure and documentation. This analysis is further described in our U.S. RMBS Rating Methodology.
