“Katie is a talented lawyer who will be an outstanding general counsel for Johns Manville,” said Bob Wamboldt, President and CEO. “She has excellent judgment and will bring years of experience supporting different JM businesses and other important projects to her new role. She will be a great addition to our leadership team.”

Albery will take over for Cindy Ryan, who announced at the end of 2020 that she plans to retire after 19 years with the company. Ryan will leave her executive role, but will continue to provide counsel to JM on several key initiatives.

Albery joined Johns Manville in 2012 and provided legal support to the company’s Engineered Products business. She later took on a similar role for JM’s Insulation Systems business. In her new role, Albery will be responsible for leading JM’s Legal, Risk Management, and Environmental, Health and Safety organizations and partnering closely with business leaders across the company on key issues.

Before joining Johns Manville, Albery was Senior Corporate Counsel at CenturyLink. Prior to that, she worked as Corporate Counsel at Qwest Communications and as an Associate at Hogan & Hartson (now known as Hogan Lovells).

Albery earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Boston College and a J.D. from Northwestern University. While at JM, she also earned a certificate from Yale School of Management for completing the executive course, Leading and Managing Globally. Albery and her family live in Denver.
