Jacynthe Cote Joins the Board of Directors of Transcontinental Inc.

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Mar 10, 2016) - Transcontinental Inc. (TSX:TCL.A)(TSX:TCL.B) is pleased to announce that Ms. Jacynthe Côté is joining the Corporation's Board of Directors. Ms. Côté is a corporate director with close to 30 years of business experience, mainly at Rio Tinto Alcan, the global leader in aluminum.

Jacynthe Côté was President and Chief Executive Officer of Rio Tinto Alcan from 2009 to 2014. Previously, she served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Rio Tinto Alcan's Primary Metal business group, following Rio Tinto's acquisition of Alcan Inc. in October 2007. She joined Alcan in 1988 and held various management positions over the years. Ms. Côté holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Université Laval in Québec City. She joined the boards of the Royal Bank of Canada and Finning International in 2014, and the board of Suncor Energy in 2015. She is a member of the advisory boards of the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital and the McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA. She also serves on the boards of directors of Allô Prof and the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal.
