QUEBEC CITY, Aug. 31, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - iA Financial Group today announced that René Chabot, Executive Vice-President, CFO and Chief Actuary, will retire on February 15, 2018 after almost 35 years of service.

René Chabot joined iA in 1983 as a graduate from Université Laval in actuarial sciences. Over the years, he has held various management positions in actuarial services, individual insurance and annuities as well as group savings and retirement and, most recently, was responsible for a portfolio of corporate services that encompassed actuarial, accounting, investor relations, risk management, legal affairs and information technologies. René has been Chief Actuary since 2010 and a member of the Company's eight-person strategic planning committee since 2012.

René Chabot will be succeeded as Chief Actuary by Jacques Potvin, a graduate of Université Laval in actuarial sciences and a 27-year veteran with the Company. Currently Vice-President and Chief Risk Officer, Jacques has occupied a variety of functions including corporate actuarial services, individual insurance sales and marketing, internal audit and capital management. He will assume his new role on February 16, 2018.
