HUAWEI P20 Pro Awarded "EISA Best Smartphone of 2018-2019" as it Signs on as an Official Sponsor of TIFF for a Second Year

Canada NewsWire

TORONTO, Aug. 15, 2018 /CNW/ - HUAWEI Consumer Business Group (CBG) has newly received an award from the European Image and Sound Association (EISA), a group comprising 55 of the world's most respected consumer electronics magazines. The HUAWEI P20 Pro has been named "EISA Best Smartphone 2018-2019" by the association, in recognition of HUAWEI's commitment to quality, design and performance. With a long track record of introducing stylish, powerful and award-winning devices, this is the sixth consecutive year that HUAWEI has been recognized by the EISA.

This comes at an exciting time, as HUAWEI Canada is announcing today that its P20 Pro is the official smartphone of Canada. This is HUAWEI Canada's second consecutive year as a sponsor of the Toronto International Film Festival ® (TIFF). The award-winning P20 Pro will be used to capture the action on the TIFF red carpets and Portrait Studio, which speaks to the quality of its Leica Triple Camera – the world's first.

"This EISA award is incredible news, especially as we gear up to support TIFF and the capturing of esteemed actors and actresses on the red carpet and in the Portrait Studio," said Radek Krasny, Director of Marketing & Brand, HUAWEI Canada, "The P20 Pro, with its superior camera and battery, is the perfect smartphone device to support photographers at a festival that celebrates the art of film."

The revolutionary Leica Triple Camera on HUAWEI P20 Pro boasts the highest total pixel count among all smartphone cameras on the market today, supporting 3x optical zoom and 5x hybrid zoom. Thanks to the world's first AI-powered chipset, the phone delivers a fast and smooth user experience including HUAWEI AIS (AI image stabilization) and a superior superb low-light photography experience, making it one of the few devices capable of shooting long-exposure photos clearly without a tripod. In addition, the 4,000mAh battery puts the HUAWEI P20 Pro among the smartphones with the largest battery capacities. Overall, the HUAWEI P20 Pro represents "a winning combination of great hardware, optics and craftsmanship," noted EISA. EISA selected the HUAWEI P20 Pro as the best smartphone of the year for being "the most advanced, innovative and technically superior smartphone ever," as well as "the perfect companion for mobile users, [and] also a trendsetter in the mobile photography field."1

"We're delighted our partnership with Huawei has been renewed for 2018 and eager to put the Huawei P20 Pro and its Triple Leica camera through its paces while the action unfolds on the TIFF red carpets in September," said Malcolm Gilderdale, Director of Content, Creative and Digital at TIFF. "Our official portrait studio welcomes some of the world's finest filmmakers – and movie lovers will be excited to share these stunning photos of their favourite stars."
