GreenPower Announces New President Brendan Riley

Electric Vehicle Veteran and former Vice-President with BYD Motors

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - October 27, 2016) - GreenPower Motor Company Inc. (TSX VENTURE: GPV) (OTCQB: GPVRF) ("GreenPower" or the "Company"), announces the appointment of Brendan Riley as GreenPower's President effective immediately.

Prior to joining GreenPower, Brendan was the North American Vice-President of Fleet Sales for BYD Motors and was in charge of strategy, tactics, support and training for selling all-electric buses, trucks, cars, and material handling equipment. During that time Brendan secured the largest privately funded contract in North America for electric buses and the largest transit bus contracts in North America two years in a row (for 25 and 36 electric buses respectively).

"It is really an exciting time for all types of electric vehicles and GreenPower has such a compelling deployment strategy and truly revolutionary products; I'm really thrilled to be part of their team!" said Brendan. "The GreenPower Battery Electric Double Decker and School buses are Game-Changers."

Brendan served two terms as the President of the Southern California chapter of the AVS for Science and Technology. He is also currently serving as an advisor on the EPRI Bus and Truck Charging Interface Group, which is the standard setting body for electric charging systems for heavy duty equipment in North America.

"We welcome Brendan's experience and leadership to GreenPower," said Fraser Atkinson, GreenPower's Chairman. "In his new role as President, he will be responsible for sales and marketing as well as the day to day operations, manufacturing, and product roadmap. His results-oriented approach and ability to think strategically will play a pivotal role in leveraging our suite of products in order to maximize the Company's growth."
