Today, on behalf of the Government of Canada, Steven MacKinnon, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Services and Procurement and Member of Parliament for Gatineau, announced the awarding of a contract for the design and management of the exterior recladding project for the Les Terrasses de la Chaudière complex following a competitive process. Joined by the Mayor of Gatineau, His Worship Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin, Parliamentary Secretary MacKinnon highlighted the Government of Canada's commitment to safe, modern and reliable infrastructure assets.
The joint venture of Provencher Roy-NORR will design and manage the exterior recladding of the Les Terrasses de la Chaudière complex, and will work with the consulting firm responsible for the overall site master plan of the complex and surrounding area. This is an important first step in the overall project to re-imagine the design and use of the downtown Gatineau complex.
The final approval of the recladding design by the National Capital Commission (NCC) is scheduled for summer 2018, and construction is set to start in spring 2019. Federal departments, agencies and businesses located in the complex will remain there during the work.
