Good Green launches organic cannabis producer

NOT FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE US OR THROUGH US NEWSWIRE SERVICES

TORONTO, May 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cannabis production company Good Green announces its launch as Canada’s newest organic producer. The company received its Confirmation of Readiness from Health Canada on May 2, 2018. It will begin operating at a 47,000-sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility on five acres in Brantford, Ont.

The company is focused on developing high quality, consistent, homogeneous organic cannabis and cannabis products. Good Green has forged a partnership with Conviron, a leader in the field of controlled environment facilities and the company plans to expand its community of partners over time.

Good Green was co-founded by Jeannette VanderMarel (President) and Daniel Goldberg (CEO).

VanderMarel is a former critical care nurse. Based on her personal experience with her terminally-ill child, she became a passionate advocate for the therapeutic use of cannabis to control medical symptoms including management of chronic pain. Previously, she was a co-founder of The Green Organic Dutchman.

Goldberg has had a successful career in banking and finance. That includes corporate development for a cannabis private equity firm, PharmaCan Capital (now Cronos Group).

“Our shared values brought us together to create a company committed to providing Canadians with the highest-quality information and products,” said VanderMarel. “We want our customers to have the information to make the best choices for themselves and, in some cases, their families.”

Said Goldberg: “The time is right for a cannabis company that brings the highest standards of quality, integrity and accountability to cultivation and production as well as environmental, social and corporate discipline.”

The company has also appointed an Advisory Board of experienced business leaders to provide counsel to Good Green on key issues. Members of the Board include Steve Kroft (CEO, Conviron), Trina Fraser (Partner, Brazeau Sellers LLP), Anita Wortzman (CEO, Acumen Corporate Development), and Dr. Gillian Davidson (CEO, Wild Horse Consulting Ltd.).
