OTTAWA, Jan. 19, 2017 /CNW/ - Today, GLOBE Series launches the 2018 GLOBE Climate Leadership Awards. These awards recognize exceptional Canadian organizations that are at the forefront of taking action on climate change.

Awards will be presented in four categories:

1. Small/Medium Business Innovator: This award will be presented to a small Canadian business (registered as a Canadian corporation and with less than 500 employees) that has demonstrated innovation and leadership and made an impact in combating climate change.
2. Large Business Innovator: This award will be presented to a large Canadian business (registered as a Canadian corporation and with more than 500 employees) that has demonstrated innovation and leadership and made an impact in combating climate change.
3. Small Municipal Trailblazer: This award will be presented to a small Canadian municipality (less than 100,000 residents that has demonstrated leadership in combating climate change.
4. Large Municipal Trailblazer: This award will be presented to a large Canadian municipality (more than 100,000 residents that has demonstrated leadership in combating climate change.

The 2018 GLOBE Climate Leadership Awards will be presented at GLOBE Forum in Vancouver (March 14-16). The awards will be presented with the support of Environment and Climate Change Canada, and in partnership with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Business Council of Canada, and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
