Galleon Gold CEO David Russell joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss progress on the West Cache Gold Project located in Timmins, Ontario.
The company has initiated the formal permitting process with the Ontario Ministry of Mines to elevate the project from exploration to advanced exploration status. Russell emphasized to Proactive that this transition is a pivotal step for Galleon Gold. Gaining the final acceptance for its Closure Plan and securing other necessary permits are crucial for the company to begin mitigating risks associated with the project.
He further detailed that the data obtained from bulk sampling and the underground drilling efforts, which aim to identify new gold targets, are set to contribute to the pre-feasibility studies. These studies are essential for laying the groundwork for eventual full-scale mining operations at the West Cache Gold Project.
Russell also noted that Galleon Gold is nearing the completion of applications for Environmental Compliance Approvals (ECA), encompassing air, noise, waste, and industrial sewage management. Additionally, the company is in the process of obtaining various construction permits needed for the development of the site's infrastructure. This includes the Permit to Take Water (PTTW), which is vital for managing the use of surface water and for the dewatering processes of the underground mine workings.
