TORONTO, Jan. 22, 2016 /CNW/ - Four models of child booster car seats, made by Transtek Trading Co. Ltd., and sold at Canadian Tire under the brand names Kukuxumusu and Apramo, are being recalled. Two Kukuxumusu models and two Apramo models are being recalled for not meeting the Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Booster Seat Safety Regulations. "We take the quality of our products very seriously at Canadian Tire and regularly test all of our products to meet or exceed quality and safety standards," said Allan MacDonald, Chief Operating Officer of Canadian Tire Retail.  "Because of the regular testing program that we conduct along with Transport Canada, we recently determined that booster seats that once met safety requirements no longer meet regulations.   Out of an abundance of caution, specific booster seats manufactured by Transtek are being recalled."

There have been no reports of any injuries associated with the use of these products.

Affected units of the Kukuxumusu seats have a manufacture date between February 2013 and September 2015, and the affected Apramo seats have a manufacture date between September 2013 and September 2015. All units were sold at Canadian Tire stores across Canada.

Customers who have purchased the recalled products can return these models to any Canadian Tire store for a refund.
