WENDAKE, QC, March 21, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Chief Ghislain Picard, accompanied by representatives of the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador (AFNQL) and First Nation Chiefs of Police, will present before the Public Inquiry Commission on relations between Indigenous Peoples and certain public services in Québec (Viens Commission) on the highly worrisome situation of public safety in its member communities. The daily tragic reality experienced by our Indigenous police forces deserves to be known.

Governments have done nothing for 40 years to allow our public security services to benefit from the support and recognition that other police forces are entitled to, with the result that the safety of our members is greatly compromised.
