Fatal Accident at Russel Metals Willams Bahcall Milwaukee Facility

TORONTO, Oct. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ - Russel Metals Inc. (RUS - TSX) reported that a fatal accident occurred at the Milwaukee facility of its subsidiary Russel Metals Williams Bahcall.

John Reid, President and Chief Operating Officer of Russel Metals stated "We are extremely saddened by this accident.  The individual who lost his life was an 18 year employee of the company, and we are focused on assisting the employee's family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time."

Brian Hedges Chief Executive Officer of Russel Metals added "In all of our operations the safety of our employees is paramount. This is a loss which is profoundly felt by everyone at Russel Metals."

Russel Metals management is working closely with authorities to ascertain the cause of the accident.  Additional details regarding the accident will not be provided out of respect for those that have been impacted.
