TORONTO --

Facedrive Inc. (“Facedrive”) (TSXV: FD), the first Canadian peer-to-peer, eco-friendly and socially responsible ridesharing network, is pleased to announce that it will be launching its services in Ottawa, Ontario, on July 1, 2020. Newly licenced in Canada’s capital, Facedrive is expected to offer its services to Ottawa’s residents starting on Canada Day, in accordance with its national and global expansion plans.

Facedrive is a first of its kind, 100% Canadian ridesharing platform that is designed to incentivize and empower the green and socially responsible consumer looking to make a meaningful and measurable impact. Facedrive’s environmentally-friendly philosophy of ridesharing allows passengers to request rides in electric, hybrid or gas-powered vehicles through the Facedrive pp. Trips completed using the Facedrive App help offset C02 emissions by contributing a portion of the rider’s fare to carbon offset initiatives, such as tree planting, without riders having to pay a premium price.

In preparation for the launch, Facedrive employed a thorough multi-step driver onboarding process to ensure that all of its drivers are adequately trained on safety protocols, including COVID-19 prevention and response measures, before they are approved to deliver rides through the platform. As businesses reopen and people return to work, Facedrive is committed to working closely with the City of Ottawa and the local authorities to support the city’s needs for transportation solutions at this critical time for all.

“We are thrilled to be expanding our operations to Canada’s capital to provide essential ridesharing services as the city reopens,” said Suman Pushparajah, Chief Operating Officer of Facedrive. “The launch of our rideshare services will be our first step in introducing Ottawa to Facedrive’s ESG (environmental, social and governance) strategy, with our other verticals such as Facedrive Foods, Facedrive Marketplace and Facedrive Health to launch in Canada’s capital in the near future,” added Pushparajah.

A safe transportation solution is critical amid the coronavirus pandemic, and Facedrive is working together with a number of municipal authorities to bridge transportation gaps as it expands its services throughout Canada and internationally. Facedrive’s ongoing commitment is to demonstrate that ridesharing can put people and planet first in an economically feasible manner.
