Niagara Falls, Ontario--(Newsfile Corp. - April 23, 2019) - EHT AgTech ("EHTAg") which is the sales and marketing division of EnerDynamic Hybrid Technologies Corp., (TSXV: EHT) ("EHT") and Growratio are pleased to announce the start of a research and development program focused on optimizing the cultivation of HOPS in their newly launched speciality grow units.

The growing of speciality HOPS is becoming a big business world-wide due to a continued rise in popularity of craft beer brewing. EHT Ag Tech has been approached, via Growratio, by craft breweries and cultivators to develop a protocol for optimizing the cultivation of HOPS in controlled environments. The research will be conducted in Growratio's downtown Toronto laboratory, and will be focused on manipulating growth patterns and shortening harvest cycles using Growratio's precision lighting and control systems. Given increasing costs and constant shortages, this is an opportunity that the industry is welcoming, with the promise of fresh, high quality HOPS being available year-round versus the annual production sales cycle the commodity is currently in.

According to Wikipedia, there was over 148,000 tons of HOPS grown worldwide last year at an approximate price of US$3.00 per pound. However, speciality HOPS have prices upwards of US$15.00 per pound. In addition, the traditional cultivation of HOPS results in only one harvest per year. These prices make growing one's own HOPS in a unit such as the EHTAg Grow Units extremely profitable, and the added benefit of year-round availability only adds to the value proposition of the units, the brewers have indicated to Growratio.

Paolo Pincente, CEO of Growratio, comments, "As with all high value crops, there are complex 'recipes' that must be orchestrated precisely to obtain a level of quality and consistency that is simply not possible outdoors or in greenhouses. HOPS are no exception. The algorithms we develop for these varieties can only be executed by our cloud platform and hardware, and the EHTAg Grow Units are the perfect environment for this."

John Gamble, CEO of EHT, commented, "This is just the start of research and development into various high value vegetables and plants that can be grown with our solution and technology."

About EnerDynamic Hybrid Technologies

EHT delivers proprietary, turn-key energy solutions which are intelligent, bankable and sustainable. EHT's expertise includes the development of its ENERTEC module structures with full integration of smart energy solutions. Using a proprietary skin and foam core that is stronger than traditional wood or steel structural insulated panels, EHT provides exceptional thermal energy efficiency in modular homes, cold storage facilities, residential/commercial out buildings and emergency/temporary shelters. EHT works with its partners worldwide to erect the buildings on-site utilizing EHT staff and local crews. In addition to traditional support to established electrical networks, ENERTEC buildings excel where no electrical grid exists.

About ENERTEC

The EHT advanced ENERTEC Modular Wall and Roof System uses a proprietary skin and foam core that is stronger and more energy efficient than traditional wood or steel structures providing the highest ratings for energy efficiency. EHT works with its partners worldwide to erect the buildings on-site utilizing EHT staff and local crews. After installation, each structure can be furnished and finished to meet the customer's requirements including siding, tile, kitchens and bathrooms or segregated commercial rooms. The finished wall product can be shipped on pallets and delivered via rail, truck or water in standard formats.

At the core of the ENERTEC product line is the ENERTEC Embedded Solar Roof Module. Solar cells can be embedded in a proprietary fire proof skin resulting in substantial cost savings by eliminating heavy glass panels and aluminum racking required for traditional solar panels. Two barriers to greater adoption of solar energy are weight limitations of the roof on which solar panels could be deployed and onerous shipping and labour costs. A lighter product at a better price point will open a larger market for solar due to the faster return of capital investment especially for rural and remote users looking to go off-grid. Furthermore, the entire EHT embedded solar roof becomes a massive solar panel capable of producing significantly more energy than the home requires, allowing the structure to then become an important source of power for the local micro grid or large battery storage systems.
