Business Overview
Cameco Corporation is engaged in providing uranium fuel to generate clean, reliable baseload electricity around the globe. The Company also offers nuclear fuel processing services, refinery services and manufactures fuel assemblies and reactor components. Its segments include uranium, fuel services and Westinghouse. The uranium segment is involved in the exploration for, mining, milling, purchase and sale of uranium concentrate. The fuel services segment is involved in the refining, conversion and fabrication of uranium concentrate and the purchase and sale of conversion services. The Westinghouse segment is engaged in the nuclear services businesses. Its uranium projects include Millennium, Yeelirrie, and Kintyre. The Cree Extension-Millennium project is a Cameco-operated joint venture located in the southeastern portion of Canada's Athabasca Basin. The Yeelirrie deposit is located approximately 650-kilometer (Km) northeast of Perth and about 750 km south of its Kintyre project.
Financial Overview
For the fiscal year ended 31 December 2023, Cameco Corp (USA) revenues increased 39% to C$2.59B. Net income increased from C$89.4M to C$360.8M. Revenues reflect Uranium segment increase of 45% to C$2.15B, Fuel Services segment increase of 17% to C$425.6M, United States segment increase of 89% to C$1.88B. Net income benefited from Gain (loss) on derivatives increase from C$72.9M (expense) to C$37.8M (income).
