CIBC takes top spot in review of Canadian mobile banking apps

Canada NewsWire

TORONTO, May 15, 2019 /CNW/ - CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) has earned the highest overall score in Canada among the banks evaluated in The Forrester Banking Wave™: Canadian Mobile Apps, Q2 2019 report.

CIBC takes top spot in review of Canadian mobile banking apps (CNW Group/CIBC - Corporate)

This report evaluates the big five Canadian banks' mobile apps for functionality and user experience, and CIBC took the top overall spot by adding new features like chat and for significantly improving its user experience. According to the report, the CIBC Mobile Banking® App was cited as "being strong across the board, achieving a balance of functionality and user experience that Canadian banks often struggle to reach."

"Clients want a secure, easy-to-navigate mobile banking experience that allows them to transact how and where they want, and to seamlessly interact with their financial institution, at their convenience," said Aayaz Pira, SVP, Digital & Direct Banking, CIBC. "Our goal is to continuously evolve the CIBC Mobile Banking App so that the client experience matches the expectations in today's digital world."

According to Forrester, CIBC's app delivers high value and is easy to use. Examples of this include ensuring links to security and privacy are present in key areas of its app, helping the bank to earn a perfect score for the privacy and trust category.

"We will continue to deliver an outstanding mobile user experience for our clients and we believe this recognition from Forrester Research showcases this commitment," added Mr. Pira

Other areas in which CIBC had the highest score include login and security, and assisted service features like chat, so that clients can easily reach the bank for support when needed.
